LAMA 2018 CHARDONNAY DI TOSCANA IGT
FATTORIA DI MURO, CHIANTI ITALY
The name Lama comes from an old farm’s name situated close to our property in the age of “mezzadria”. Large landowners divided their property into family-sized plots, each of which was worked by a sharecropping family required to give the landowner half of all crops grown every year. This Lama, a pale straw-white in colour has golden reflections and an extraordinary range of floral notes. The mineral aromas lead to green, floral scents with hints of elderflower and spicy notes. On the palate, it is fruity and crispy with well balanced.

Fattoria II Muro has been owned by the Pancaro family for more than two centuries. Its land has always been used for producing grapes. This is due to its particular environmental conditions that are ideal for the production of high quality wine enabling the growth of grapevines in an environmentally sustainable and eco-friendly way.
Indeed, the soil rich in marl and the temperate climate provide a microhabitat that improves the organoleptic qualities and the health of the grapes. Since the early 1970s, the late owner Francesco Pancaro, decided to specialize in winemaking. His engagement and work have been continued by the whole family, but mostly by his son Federico (agronomist). He is now engaged with updating
the production techniques while keeping up the old traditions, aware that enthusiasm, love for nature and respect for the environment are the only possible recipe to maintain the high product quality.
According to this philosophy only the grapes produced on their own land are being used for creating these high-quality wines produced in the historic wine-cellar, locally known as La Panchera.
Federico Pancaro with his Team strive to produce the grape and his wines putting into the soil the intention to reach its highest capacities, trying to make each wine the best possible expression of Tuscan unique terroir. Only the finest grapes are selected and vinified at the Estate's historic wine cellar following traditional methods, supported by innovative winemaking techniques.
