May2021 Starter Wine Bag
We are already in the mid of 2021 (we can't believe it!) and we'd love to introduce you our May list of always-minimal intervention wines.
As we've recently brought in a new shipment from Spain, your bag will start carrying labels from there. So here goes!
50 Reasons by Neleman (Spain)
Chardonnay Muscat by Neleman (Spain)
The Chardonnay has been picked up at an advanced point of maturation and the Muscat in an early state in order to give a subtle touch of flowers, white fruits and peach in the nose and a wide mouth. The wine has a pale color with golden reflections. Middle-high aromatic intensity, fresh and exiting mouth with a long fruity finish. Very well balanced. Drink this wine with raw and lightly cooked shellfish, steamed or grilled fish, fish pâtés, fish, chicken or vegetable terrines and pasta or risotto with spring vegetables.
Organic Merlot by Pure Vision (Australia)
A soft, supple organic Merlot from South Australia, this deep purple wine gives fresh aromas of ripe red berries and rich black plums. On the palate you'll find notes of fruitcake from the French oak, and hints of pepper in the finish. A medium to full-bodied red that pairs well with a wide range of foods – match to spiced meat dishes or fruit-sauces.
In 2005, Ken founded Pure Vision, an organic and sustainable arm to the family business, and was joined by Chris. The brothers have over 40 years of experience in the vineyard now, and they are passionate about sustainable farming and organic farming practices. Visionaries in sustainable winemaking in Australia, Nature’s Step and Pure Vision create some of the most delicious, easy-drinking organic wines on the market.
Eclectic 2016 by Torre Del Veguer (Spain)
A blend of three grape varietals - Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Garnacha - this full bodied red exhibits aromas of red berry fruits, dashes of chocolate and vanilla that comes from the aging of the oak barrels. Notes recall red pepper, aromatic dry Mediterranean herbs such as white pepper. On the palate, it is round with a great balance between acidity and alcohol. A sappy wine with a savoury finish.
