Organic Sauvignon Blanc by Nature's Step   Organic Sauvignon Blanc by Nature's Step

This organic Sauvignon Blanc displays lovely aromas of fresh lemons and limes followed by subtle flavours of grapefruit on the palate. Pale yellow with green hues, this is a light, rounded, refreshing white wine with zesty acidity and a crisp, dry finish. Best served chilled with fish dishes.

Terry and Kiriaki Carypidis migrated to Australia in 1953, eventually settling in Virginia, South Australia. After working in any job they could to make ends meet, they managed to buy some fertile, promising land where they could raise their family. Taking with them their young daughter Voula and two sons, Ken and Chris, it took just five years before Terry planted the very first grapes on what is today affectionately called the “Home Block”; twenty acres of shiraz and cabernet sauvignon, using the methods that Terry had seen and tended to at home in Greece.

In 2005, Ken founded Pure Vision, an organic and sustainable arm to the family business, and was joined by Chris. The brothers have over 40 years of experience in the vineyard now, and they are passionate about sustainable farming and organic farming practices. Visionaries in sustainable winemaking in Australia, Nature’s Step and Pure Vision create some of the most delicious, easy-drinking organic wines on the market.

Ballarino by Valdonica (Italy) (Level of overall body, acidity, profile and strength - 5/5)

Ballarino 2012 by Valdonica   Ballarino 2012 by Valdonica

A complex, structured and well-crafted creamy white wine. Floral with hints of eucalyptus and kitchen herbs followed by slight woody notes. Fresh on the palate, with a tasty mineral and savoury note. A very highly-rated natural wine that has won numerous awards. A wine that pairs just as well with salted egg yolk as it does with blue cheeses.

Chianti by Fattoria di Gratena (Italy) (Level of overall body, acidity, profile and strength - 3/5)

Chianti by Fattoria di Gratena   Chianti by Fattoria di Gratena

Featuring perfectly blended Sangiovese grapes, this organic Chianti is laced with red fruits and underlying sweet spice aromas. It is toasty, medium bodied with a lingering finish. The rippling acidity makes this a fantastic partner to tomato-based pasta dishes or grilled meats.

Fabio di Ambrogi, the fantastic winemaker from Fattoria di Gratena, in Tuscany, has been farming his vines organically since 1994. His team fertilize with manure only, harvest by hand and respect the natural cycles of the vineyard.
