Château du Mourre du Tendre
The Paumel family has always distanced itself from conventional viticulture. Jacques Paumel of Chateau du Mourre in Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a pioneer in going against conventional practices. Their values include respect for the land, search for balance and strive for elegance in their winemaking. Their vineyards sit on soils of great diversity with a dominant limestone structure and different types of clays and sands. This brings great complexity, elegance and finesse to their delicious wines.
The wines are made from bunches harvested manually from vines between 50 and 100 years old. Whole bunches are used in order to produce great wines for aging. Vinification happens in stainless steel tanks, with maceration spread out over 20 to 40 days. The wines then mature for 24 to 36 months.
